Paper Towns Preview

For once it looks as if one of John Green’s books won’t make us ball our eyes out at the theater. Paper Towns takes a separate path than previous novels by Green. The Fault in Our Stars focused on cancer-stricken teenagers while Paper Towns shows how a boring teenage life can turn into a thrilling mystery.

This book adaptation focuses on a high school teenager, Quentin (Nat Wolff), who has always been fond of the most popular girl in school, Margo (Cara Delevingne). The only problem is that Margo doesn’t even know Quentin exists; that is until she knocks on his window in the middle of the night after a rough breakup with her boyfriend. The revenge plot commences as Quentin has an incredible night with the love of his life. However, as Quentin wakes up the next morning, Margo has vanished leaving small clues intended for Quentin that could lead to her whereabouts. Now Quentin embarks on a journey following his heart and bringing a few friends along for the ride.

Paper Towns 2

Early reviews are already piling in for Paper Towns and Rotten Tomatoes currently has it at 83%. It will be fascinating to see if the film pulls in the adult audience in addition to the teenage audience they have in the palm of their hand. Paper Towns appears to have a more light-hearted, inspirational feel that encourages young adults to always follow their dreams but we will have to see its true intentions when it is released later this week.
